New Decree on the Validity of Powers of Attorney – Kuwait
The Jordanian Trademark Office has introduced a new approach to trademark renewals, and these changes are already being applied to current and future filings. Several renewal requests were recently rejected, prompting the need for clearer guidance.
Under the updated policy, renewal applications can only be filed during the three-month window before the trademark’s expiry date. Any request submitted earlier than this period will be refused without exception. The TMO has confirmed that this rule now governs all pending and upcoming renewal filings.
These changes make timing more important than ever for trademark owners with registrations in Jordan. A missed or prematurely filed renewal could lead to unnecessary delays or loss of protection.
