Newsletter Update – EGYPO Fee Amendments
New Service Fees Announced by the Egyptian Patent Office (EGYPO)
The Egyptian Patent Office (“EGYPO”) has recently issued new administrative decisions introducing an increase to official fees applicable to Intellectual Property-related procedures in Egypt. These amendments were promulgated pursuant to Decision Nos. 64 and 65 of 2026, issued by the Chairman of the Board of Directors of EGYPO.
These developments are expected to influence the administrative handling and overall cost structure of certain IP procedures before EGYPO and the Trademark Office (TMO).
Businesses, brand owners, and applicants are therefore encouraged to review ongoing and upcoming filings, enforcement actions, and recordal strategies to ensure proper planning and timely compliance.
The new fees entered into force as of May 2026, as specified in the relevant administrative decisions, and are now applicable to all corresponding services processed by EGYPO.
- These increases in fees affect several areas, including:
- Search services
- Commercial Trademark Services
- All Services provided by the Commercial Trademarks Department.
- Trademarks, commercial data, and geographical indications;
- Industrial Design applications and forms.
- Obtaining a certified copy of the experts’ official reports:
- Experts’ reports concerning seizures, cases, complaints, and restrictions up to the year 2024;
- Experts’ reports concerning seizures, cases, complaints, and restrictions after 2024 up to the year 2025;
All the above fees are also subject to the official fees prescribed by law and the applicable stamp duties.
