Following the recent events that affected the operations of government offices in Gaza, the Gaza trademark office has officially resumed its operations.
The Office has resumed receiving and processing trademark matters, allowing applicants and trademark owners to proceed with new filings and the continuation of pending matters under the currently applicable procedures.
Accordingly, clients with pending matters should note that certain documents may need to be resubmitted for the registration process to resume.
Regarding the latest procedural updates and official fees, the official government fees remain unchanged. Furthermore, a single amendment has been made regarding the deadline for filing oppositions. The deadline for filing oppositions against trademark applications published in Trademark Gazette No. 70, dated 15 August 2023, has been extended until 11 August 2026.
Although the Office has resumed its operations, the current situation remains exceptional, and trademark procedures may still be subject to changes based on the measures adopted by the relevant authorities.
We will continue to closely monitor developments at the Gaza Trademark Office and keep our clients informed of any significant changes to official procedures, examination practices, processing timelines, or applicable deadlines.
Should you require any assistance with trademark matters in Gaza, please do not hesitate to contact our team at Gaza@alyafi-ip.com
