Doha, Qatar                                                                                                                                       04-Mar-26

The Filing and Registration Department at the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in Qatar has recently issued an announcement introducing temporary procedural measures for trademark-related transactions, due to the continuation of remote working arrangements under circumstances beyond the authority’s control.

Under this temporary framework, the Trademark Office (TMO) confirmed that trademark matters linked to statutory deadlines will be accepted only after the resumption of in-person operations. The Ministry further indicated that an additional grace period will be granted for the submission of such transactions, with the exact duration to be announced at a later stage.

  • Trademark Final Registration Receipts.
  • Trademark Renewal Receipts.
  • Trademark Publication Receipts.
  • Opposition Receipts.

In the meantime, certain communications will continue to be processed electronically. Responses to trademark oppositions and replies to office actions relating to trademarks and patents must be submitted via the official email address of the relevant department for further processing.

Trademark owners and agents are therefore advised to ensure that all responses to oppositions and office action continue to be filed electronically without delay, while other deadline-related submissions will be accepted after the resumption of in-person work, subject to the additional grace period to be determined by the administration.

Alyafi IP Group is following every change at TMO to keep you updated.
