Key Changes in the Trademarks Registration Process in Yemen

We are writing to inform you of an important update from the Trademarks Office (TMO) in Sanaa, Yemen, regarding the number of goods and services allowed in trademark applications.

New Update to Ministerial Decision No. 52/2024
The TMO has revised its previous decision limiting trademark applications to just 10 items per filing. The updated policy now allows applicants to designate an unlimited number of goods and services within a single filing.

However, please note that beyond the initial 10 items, an additional 5% publication fee will apply to each extra item. This change introduces greater flexibility for trademark applicants, although it comes with an increase in publication fees for applications that include more than 10 items.

Temporary Disruption in the TMO Portal
The TMO’s official portal is currently non-functional due to modifications being made to reflect this updated policy. Applicants should expect some delay in accessing the portal until the updates are fully implemented.

Alyafi IP Group is closely monitoring the situation and will keep you updated with any further developments.
